IDENTIFYING NOVEL TARGETS FOR EFFECTIVE THERAPY IN DIABETES TYPE II

Identifying novel targets for effective therapy in Diabetes type II is a major bottleneck. Our aim is to utilize druggable siRNA and chemical libraries to identify novel targets effecting the levels of insulin secretion in Diabetes type II insulinoma cells derived from mouse pancreatic beta cells. The initial screen using a small subset of genes reported to be involved in insulin secretion will be followed by the high through put screening to delineate the drug targets.
